How the Daily Sudoku works

SudokuGG converts the calendar date into a repeatable puzzle seed. That seed chooses a valid board transformation and a difficulty for the day. Reloading the page or opening it on another device produces the same starting grid for that date; your entries, timer and streak remain local to the browser you use.

The archive arrows let you move to earlier dates. Future dates remain locked so the next challenge is not revealed ahead of time. Daily puzzles use Easy, Medium and Hard paths, giving regular players a mixture of relaxed and demanding sessions.

Quick controls

  • Tap a cell and choose a number.
  • Use Notes for candidates.
  • Undo or erase a recent entry.
  • Use up to three hints.
  • Use keyboard digits and arrow keys on desktop.

Why practise with one puzzle a day?

A daily puzzle creates a small, repeatable practice habit. Because there is only one featured grid, the goal is not to search until you find a favourable puzzle. You work with the layout you receive, observe where progress slows and return the next day with that experience.

Use the timer as a personal comparison, not a universal ranking. Difficulty, interruptions and input device all affect completion time. A more useful measure is whether you solved without guessing, kept candidates accurate and recognised the technique that unlocked the hardest section.

A five-minute starting routine

Begin with a complete scan for singles. Next, follow one missing digit through all nine boxes. Add candidate notes only after those direct moves are exhausted. If the puzzle is still open after five minutes, look for pairs or locked candidates instead of entering a speculative value.

Daily Sudoku FAQ

Does everyone get the same daily puzzle?

Yes. The calendar date deterministically creates the same starting grid for every player. Local progress and completion times are not shared.

Do I need an account to keep a streak?

No account is required. The streak is stored in your current browser, so it will not automatically transfer to another device.

Can I play an earlier daily puzzle?

Yes. Use the previous-date arrow to open the archive. Future puzzles remain unavailable until their date arrives.

What happens if I refresh?

An unfinished puzzle is restored from local browser storage. Clearing browser data can remove that saved state.
